Only really used Egoist by Chanel, so I guess I'm a casual at this. Thinking of going up in the world and getting Ermenegildo Zegna's Indonesian Oud. It is obviously a very different scent and kind of scent. But I'm tentatively thinking of throwing down some hard money for this stuff now. Is this a "good" scent/ a good start at getting serious?

>two pairs of Levi jeans, three or four of khaki chinos, one pair of green chinos, one pair of Scotch and Soda black trousers with very small white dots
>Brooks Brothers Madras shorts, misc. Canterbury shorts and other basics in whites and neutral tones
>two blue button downs, three misc. white button downs Rodd and Gunn, Tommy Hilfiger etc, pink oxford, blue and white oxford and white from Brooks Brothers, Ralph Lauren beach twill button down and RL chambray shirt in light blue/grey
>White sneakers, lace up boots, black formal shoes, light brown suede, boat shoes, burgundy brogues, slip on suede boat shoes
>misc. sweaters including Brooks Brothers(in white) and a few others in cable knit in navy and burgundy
>Barn jacket, harrington jacket and blue/grey thin window pan suit
Ausfailian so thats why virtually zero outerwear. Which is a shame cause layering is fun on the odd day its cold enough to do that for 40 minutes in the morning. Any suggestions what I need to get? Penny loafers are on the list and a blazer too as well as another suit/sports jacket of some kind
