Was there ever a time period where people on /fa/ didn't talk like 14 year old girls texting each other?

For example, if you respond to something with "w2c", I have absolutely no incentive to respond with the answer to that.

I'm not trying to be a grammar Nazi, and I understand that there are many posters who probably don't speak English too well, but I'd rather re-watch that commercial with Malcom McDowel and James Earl Jones than read a sizable portion of posts on /fa/.
