I think OP just had a hard time putting it into words.

People are more likely to call you a hipster if you dress in a post-modern way, because that's what's trending. But if you wear "semi-formal", I assume it's emulating "authentic masculinity" and avoids any insecurity or loss of dignity if you look ridiculous/out of place in futuristic geometrical clothing.

i don't really think there's anything wrong with the wide hips silhouette, it's just another thing to choose from. i think a lot of guys on /fa/ are probably intimidated by anything that might make them appear feminine though so i get why people are so willing to shout "birthing hips lol!"
