Honestly, been getting a bit fed up myself with PNW boots.
> Had my MPs for just over a year
> Already started squeaking in both boots when I walk.
> Bakershoe quotes me $200 to add a "squeak cloth" to fix the problem.
> Ship them over from Germany
> They then tell me it'll be $450
> I tell them I wouldn't have sent them over if it'd cost that much so hell no.
> They tell me it'll cost $90 to ship them back.
> I tell them hell no, they're the ones who misquoted me.
> "We'll see what we can do"
and that was over 2 weeks ago so I have to ring these chumps. I'm ending up dealing with Bakershoe, Drew's Boots, and White's at this point.
I bought these boots because I have weird feet. They were the best fitting boots I've ever had but the fact that you can spend $600 on a pair of boots, and they'll fucking squeak after a year blows my mind. All they can say is "oh well that's because of the all leather construction" - well don't fucking use it then.
If you go on /r/pnwbootmakers, everyone says their boots eventually squeak which blows my mind.
So yeah, honestly, I think I'm just going to get some Alden Indy boots because they're just standard goodyearwelted boots with a cork-midsole. Anyone in the world can fix those boots instead of PNWbootmakers' proprietary handstitch/stitchdown construction which is rare, and they won't just start squeaking randomly.
