Your hair won't suddenly become less greasy after having trained your follicles that they need to greas up within a couple hours because you wah them so often. The degreasing process takes a couple weeks, to desensitize them aka letting them stay greasy for a couple days, so that this cycle can recover. If you wash every day, you should extend it to every third day. After 5-8 cycles your hair won't grease up after the first or second day any longer. This can be extended to a week and even longer.

You only look and smell like a hobo after 3 days because you have fucked up your bodies own control system.

And of course you are supposed to comb through and rebraid in the morning and optionally in the evening. But keeping it up and together all remaining day will be enought rest for the folicle when compared to open hair flowing around. I didn't think I had to explicitly communicate such a basic fact.

Go to the longhaircommunity if you want to learn more. Not washing as frequently is the first offence which needs to go and is a complete modern invention. Up to the 1930s women and the dawn of commercial shampoo, women washed monthly. Those new shampoos explicitly mentioned to not be ued more often than weekly.
