Newfag about hair here, used to just get really short pixie cuts at a local $10 barber shop. Going to grow my hair out and go for something more femme, but in the mean time my hair is kind of shaggy.

I want to get a medium length undercut eventually, but in the mean time should I go to that $10 barber shop and ask them for a trim? And what should I say to make sure I'm not getting too much taken off.
