OK, so here it is:

But most vintage ones are way more expensive than what they used to cost, even taking inflation into account.

that is beyond my understanding.
Like, just make the exact same watch that everyone wants to have, maybe give it a more modern and better movement, if available and stamp -reissue- on the back, so no one can sell it as vintage and price it competitively and everyone is happy.
But only the chinese rip…err homages are doing that. So if you want a good looking watch, you either buy the real deal for a huge price and with all the issues vintage might or might not have, or you buy chinese. I don't see where the reissues come into the equation.
Plus, you can even get funky colors, if that's your thing (pic related)

Yeah, of course. But most of their stuff is way below 300. Tempted by this, but yellow is really bold, so not sure if that's a good idea.

Ugly as hell, way too big, but I want it! I'll probably have to try a canned tona clone at some point (but in colorfl) , to see if I should get the original at some point.

There should be more mellow yellows…
(Though this one also suffers from oversizedness, but I'd guess with the almost lugless design, this one is much easier to pull off)
