It's not necessarily better. I could argue that the led is of higher quality, or the tolerances are tighter (so the graphite is centered better), etc., but that's less important.

I mainly use it because it's a celebration of the craft. Graf von Faber Castell has been making pencils for 300 years. It's nice to own one of their flagship pieces.

Anon, I have to do back-of-the-napkin calculations all the time. If your job involves math (or really anything STEM) you may need to estimate something on the fly.
