Maybe it's just because I grew up in the suburbs, but pop-metalcore like BMTH/Suicide Silence/Asking Alexandria/etc. was still pretty big amongst popular girls well into 2014/15 (don't think boys were really into it). I had a massive crush on this Luna Lovegood-looking chick that always wore black skinny jeans and flannel shirts (basically what I wear today lmao), which was really ironic as I was going through a metal elitist phase at the time (band shirt/camo shorts, listening to Unique Leader Record's entire back catalogue, heated genre debates, making fun of Mitch Lucker's death etc.). She was single but I was too much of a bitch to ask her out, and I still remember being heartbroken when some proto-eboy got to her before I did. I used to really hate scene kids, but honestly, now I just feel a sad kind of nostalgia for those times, as they were so much simpler. You have edgethots/egirls today but it's just not the same. Where has the time gone honestly
