I usually just don't bother setting the date. The other Omega is pretty bad too, the day of the week is quickset but the date is not.

If it's actually gold and it's a dressy watch and it's restrained then I think it looks great. If you're wearing a big flashy fake gold watch with a track suit then that's when it's kind of tacky.

Same with me, I found my grandpa's watch which was in storage for a long time just like yours and I really like wearing it even though it wouldn't be worth shit on ebay or something because it's a bit beaten up and the dial isn't original.

With yours being quartz it would really probably be pretty cheap to get it running like new and you could also get the crystal replaced and the watch would really be pretty decent. The case is pretty banged up and the hands aren't great but the dial looks pretty clean and at least all those nicks were put there by your dead grandpa and not some random guy on ebay.
