You're right, but what's stopping VC or JLC to change some of their designs in order to have a visual identity of their own? Like, who's gonna cry if they change the hands and indices of the Patrimony? Pic related is nice, but what makes it inherently JLC? It could be a Vacheron.
Developing an identity through "visual signatures" is important imo. Everyone can recognize a Rolex thanks to the mercedes hands, or a Cartier thanks to the Roman numerals.
