My dad always wore a Rolex and I always liked watches as a little kid. I had an endless succession of Swatches as a child.

As an adult the first """real""" watch I bought was an ETA 2824-powered Victorinox titanium watch, which was a totally reasonable piece of shit.
Then I bounced around all sorts of other brands from the Trinity to Seikos and back. I always avoided Rolex because I thought it was an old man's brand because my father wore it.
Then I remembered he wore a Rolex when he was young too and I bought mine.

They are overpriced on the gray market. I paid retail for mine and I certainly think it's reasonable to pay 10k USD for this watch. In no way is this a 30k USD watch.
