I would say like 2 years depending on your hair. This took me 2 years to grow out.

It does look a bit frizzy, do you use shampoo?

From personal experience shampoo kind of kills my hair. I just use a conditioner maybe twice a week and put a little bit of oil in it sometimes after showering. My hair is shorter now (growing it out again) but this is what it looked like right before I got it cut.

on the brink of saying goodbye to long hair and getting a shorter cut similar to what elias bender ronnenfelt has (aware that I'm not as attractive as him but doesn't seem like a haircut that's impossible to pull off)

pic rel is me rn. this is my hair when it's probably at it's best.

was in the exact same situation my man, grew out from an undercut. i went to my barber and told him I really wanted to grow it out long. he basically cut it so everything was balanced, which looked a little bit odd at first but worked well. that was about a year and six months ago, since then I got it slightly trimmed (ends) three times. this is what it looks like now, still growing it longer. it is definitely a frustrating process.
