You can reverse it with a lot of stripping detergent and soap but you can see the tip where it refused to lighten back to the original unlike the shaft so now it is just a generic brown just think twice before doing so

here's my pair, produced in 2009, worn consistently for 5 years then seldomly worn recently. never resoled.
