I hear you man. Check to see if local airfields do any sort of local tours. This place took me around for an hour but for $250 you can fly to the mountains, get a burger, and fly back. The instructors need to be subsidized by guys like us to cover their fuel costs. They have to get >1,500 flight hours regardless.
