>My agents were telling me that big fashion houses weren’t wanting to book me because of the beard,” he says. “It’s not what they’re looking for any more and I realized then that I wasn’t going to be getting jobs with it.

>"In essence he’s cheap. He’s that Silver Lake guy with Vans and rolled up jeans. I love that look, that’s who I am too, in a lot of ways. But today’s dude is all about looking more unattainable, looking more elevated, maybe more expensive. No one wants a hipster who looks like he just got done scavenging.”

OFFICIAL 2016 RANKINGS

>long hair/full thick stubble= ultimate tier

>long hair/clean shaven= acceptable but behind the times

>short hair/stubble= second best

>beards/any hairstyle= trash unless you're older

>short hair/clean shaven= normal, nobody will care

_______
I copied this from a post two days ago. I thinks its an interesting thing to discuss.
I don't agree with all of it. Medium length hair can look better on people than long hair most of the time. There are some exceptions to the rule with certain short hair looking good, especially if you're attractive, like some 90s styles making a return. Some people can't grow facial hair well enough to rock a nice stubble either, so in that case I've noticed you can circumvent the little bitch look that sometimes comes with long hair by being well built, tall, and confident.

Also, from what I can tell, being skinny and lanky seems to be fading out in terms of what people respect to be fashionable and good looking. At least in the real world (so not on the runway with 10k outfits). But if you can afford nice fits with good taste to back it up then I guess that would be the exception.

Alot of what this guy is saying seems to be applicable in the fashion industry. But when you put the concepts in the real world you can easily come off as edgy and insecure
