yeah it all depends what you're doing. a farmer might want the big cuffs. someone climbing skyscraper beams might opt to hem or even have straps put at the hem of their jeans -- i had a pic of that a second ago but lost it durr. rolling your jeans like picrel was also popular. metalworkers and welders i know prefer double knee canvas pants to jeans in the first place because they're pretty stationary and the extra protection is worth the hit to breathability.
