Newer to this and just got a batch of decants last week that I've been trying out as kind of a "starter" to figure out what I like based off the flowchart/101 chart and scents I'd like before or groups that sound to my taste. Typically I like Woody Floral/Floral Musk. Did get some recommendations from here before, I started with

>Floris No. 89
>Dior Homme (The 2020 reformulation, could not find samples/decants of the original)
>Terre d'Hermès
>Lalique Encre Noir
>Cartier Declaration d'un Soir

Some of them very good, but having an issue with strength, all EdTs. I'm not sure if it's a me thing living in a hot humid state, weak decants, or just the scents and I'm used to stronger bad colognes I was always given as gifts, or a fucked up nose (There's precedence for that in my life).

Honestly, of these the Floris has been the best, which I expected going in as what sounded best to me, but was most surprised because it had the longest-lasting, strongest scent to me, while still being subtle. The Homme has been good but it seems to almost disappear after a few hours, maybe it's just similar to a normal scent for me, but it's the one I've gotten the most comments on (Nice but not decisive of where I want to go). Occasional iris-y notes, but nothing consistent. Hermès was disappointing in a similar way, just very normal cologne smell, but not bad. Encre Noir is what actually makes me wonder if I got weak decants or something, because it smells fine, but I wouldn't call it "inky" or strong, and being totally new to it aside from once getting some Ombre Leather as a gift doesn't seem to dark or strong, and if that's vetiver then it's pleasant but could be more. The Cartier is nice but smells very florid, which I like but want more musk/wood/complexity from.

Does this match up with anyone's experience, any suggestions off of it? The decants were from DecantX if it matters, who had the best selection of what I wanted in one place and seemed well-reviewed.
