In terms of Practicality, I would say LL bean Katahdins, aka rebranded chippewas with lifetime warranty. 3 types, not a nice finish compared to actual chippewas, but slim toebox and a captoe depending on model, or a heavy vibram sole. Needs coconut oil or will dry out eventually though.

I got the heavier waterproofed katahdins with the ankle reinforcement and heavy lug.
They are pretty good quality, BUT the leather wrinkles and fold in fat amounts.
I love 'em to death but I'm betting the upper doesn't last more than another two years, so thank christ for LL beans warranty.
More of a actual workboot though.
pic are my boots while doing some cleaning.

Different Guy, but depending on what you're doin with Chippewa's there's a lotta options
The standard boot is typically the Apache Laceup or Service Boot. Many like the GQ Apache for it's uniformity and more standard finish, but the normal Laceup looks pretty nice imo.

I'd also recommend heavily looking towards LL Bean's Katahdin series, as they are made by Chippewa and sold under the LL Bean moniker with their unbeatable warranty. They are offered in somewhat limited variety however, but they do feature a cap toe, and a cordovan color, although not together. You also might feel the standard chippewa line has better color or vibrance in finish. I have the heavy duty waterproof Katahdin's with the real chunky Vibram sole. Fantastic traction, but clunky and the Vibram sole can be somewhat ugly. Much more of a workboot really, but it suits my needs.

Pic is my Katahdin's.

My man. I got the waterproof Katahdins, most people seem to prefer the engineer series. Regardless, you get nicer Chippewas with a warranty off the wall.
