Dating for looks isn't sustainable, per your Ferrari analogy. Arguably, dating someone who is incredibly attractive not only boosted your self-esteem (short-lived), but it's a power move.

You bring that person as your significant other to work events, couples things, and she just mogs the room. Guys think you're the man and you're 10x more attractive to other women. I'd just leave her on one side of the room and watch guys flock; shit was hilarious. Sure, she said she was uncomfortable with that but I knew she loved the attention.

But it's short-lived, you'll get bored easily. The sex was horrific because she had no enthusiasm and her body dysmorphia spiked whenever she was naked. Not sustainable.
