I posted yesterday asking for advice on cleaning white shoes, but didn't really get what I wanted, so I'm trying again.

Can someone give me some tips on how to get them clean white again?
I did machine wash them, which got rid of almost all the big stains, then I tried cleaning them with laundry soap and water, but it doesn't look good.
I was going to wear these shoes on a date this saturday but now I don't think it'll be a good idea.
