Fair enough. I enjoy far more subtle fits that make basic pieces look incredible.

Each to their own and all that, I was probably a bit harsh initially, though I do still maintain my view.

Also, I don't think grouping this thread under the label is really promoting orientalism. Fashion and styles produced in Japan that are unique to the country are fairly contained. The OP didn't suggest Japanese fashion was in anyway uniform. This argument would probably be similar as attempts to define gothninja/streetwear etc.
