For years I struggled finding a shirt that fit the way I liked. Thinking the problem was in the taper I got slimmer and slimmer fit shirts. These slim fit shirts would be tighter in the chest and arms but in the belly would still end up puffing up making an embarrassing puff above my beltline when tucked in. I recently stole one of my stepdads shirts, traditional fit, and got complimented today from a stranger who said “that is a very nice shirt”. And I feel and look trimmer in the bigger shirt than I did the slim fit. I realized the difference is the extra material of the trad fit shirt can be tucked in better, ironically making a smaller waist, while the extra room in the chest and arms make you look bigger in those areas. A slim fit shirt has less material to tuck and thus comes out of the waist all the while constructing your upper body.

Tl;dr slim fits are for twinks and faggots and ruin your fit
