Yeah I tried it on the other day, fitted perfectly except in the arms. They said they couldn't take it down though because of the construction, it would mean the cuff would flare out and look stupid.

similar types of materials, for example two cashmeres, can feel, drape and move differently.

designers craft garments in shapes and with features that normal stores do not.

brands have prestige and history associated.

fa cares about clothing and can admire all of these features

Lurked a very long time here. /fa/ helped me acquire knowledge and save time. /fa/ used to be mostly just menswear and so I learned the importance of looking sharp yet not tacky and the correct fit on traditionals.

Then as it geared towards designer and a darker aesthetic I learned to look at the detail and how my body looked in certain clothing shapes towards an overall outfit, but still consider the context and environment i'm in.

I've done a lot of things wrong in the past with my dressing, and have been told silly things by /fa/ I admit; but all of the ideas introduced here gave me paths to explore and now I have a respect for the art and try to give back as much as possible (feels good man).

The confidence of knowing you're sharply dressed for any occasion became one thing to check off the list of worries.

Since I work as a model I've also been able to make connections I otherwise wouldn't have, simply by knowing what /fa/ taught me.

I think I see what you were trying to say, though. Like, certain Yohji pieces can look so dope, but in the context of a normal mall or something it can just look all wrong to a lot of people, whereas if you were chilling outside or in an epic ninja showdown they would still look wicked.

waywt is not an accurate reflection of 4chan /fa/ userbase. Most people posting fit want criticism.

I assert that, if black garments are executed right and artisinal then simply the design and difference in texture and hue can be striking enough, surely you've seen somebody in black that struck you as interesting and cool. If you haven't then I hope you will. Just a lot of times it's not executed well.

I don't know about other posters but I don't subscribe to one echelon, I use menswear many times as well but looking at ann and yohji and luc and designers like this are more interesting than looking at recycled traditionals from lanvin.

sure, some people may put together the pieces together wierdly, and some of the runway shows of the pieces may be even silly. Some of the individual pieces when worn correctly are amazing though.

you should probably lurk more and realize that though there are many just following along on /fa/ or confused or just starting out, there are also good posters on here and valid topics of discussion that relate to current fashion, and the importance of the black aesthetic to fashion in general.
