Smokers do look cool and it is an awesome social tool but it's not worth the diseases imho

chances are you're not gonna die from smoking, but the more you smoke the more health related issues come up and I don't know anyone over 25 who smokes and doesn't regret it

Not Oregon per se but Portland

basically it was a really nice place, it was planned by a bunch of hippies in the seventies to be a paradise for the lower classes (free things to do, light rail to jobs, urban growth boundary)

That made it a good place for artists and other creatives to live in, which made the city a good place for people who like art and are poor.

News of this spread, especially to the LA metro area, the Bay Area, basically places where people with lots of money are unhappy with their surroundings. The wealthy young people moved to Portland

Now the rent and cost of living are going up, there's no free public transit, older and older people are moving in, and it's becoming another san fransisco where emaciated stanford university business grads crawl across the desert of overpriced food, clawing at passing angel investors croaking "fund my startup, fund my startup"
