If you read their personal accounts, the training and mission schedules are just insane. They put out a lot of great publicity shots but these men & women are pushed to their limits and back again. There's a casual strength.

I don't think there's a wrong way to do this as we're all feeling it out, so I'm gonna say yes, but I do think you need to be careful - you want to try and mash up the old and new, and keep in mind that techwear is not a new concept. Even in 1950 there was an equivalent for techwear. Maybe it was a specialized hunting jacket or a forward thinking pair of boots designed for explorers, but the way those garments grasped at the future is different than the way similarly marketed things do today. The reason why I put a lot of Prps in these fits is because they routinely do pieces that exemplify this idea of a really weird jacket that's been rotting away in a barn or an attic for 40 years. The look translates well to "Lunarcore" because it's vague enough for the other techy garments in the fit to change the meaning of what is essentially a heritage repro (in the case of Prps).
So where the real magic happens is when your fit plays with semiotics and symbols and maybe helps turn that oddly shaped hood into a space helmet for one second, or maybe the straps on your hightops suddenly become imbued with new importance. You feel me?
