I think it's time /fa/ had a serious discussion about Docs.
It became clear to me why this board is so obsessed with them when I saw all the meetups and their pics. They showed that most people on this board are teenagers, manlets and they love to dress like school shooters, hence the all black and chunky commando soles. That's why people are constantly asking about Docs here.
The truth is, they're absolute trash. Mall-tier trash that you can find at your nearest Journeys. They're made in Thailand or China by literal sweatshop slaves. They have no shape, they're just formless blobs that make your feet look big and boxy. The leather is absolute trash and probably the worst part about them. It's more plastic than leather. The break-in is well known and notoriously bad. The soles are extremely soft and are the fastest wearing part of them. And they're not resolable as they're melted to the welt after being filled with air. The idea is nice but it doesn't offer a long life to the boot.
Docs are associated in most people's minds with lesbian dykes, edgy high schoolers in their rebellious phase, and skinheads. Like I said, after seeing all the pics from meetups it became clear that that is the largest demographic of /fa/, so it makes sense.
Do your self a favor and just keep looking instead of getting some Docs. Spend a little extra and get something with real leather and a proper Goodyear welt that can be resoled. If you're no longer a teenager and you wear Docs you will be judged as being childish. People will wonder why you're still dressed like that despite being a grown up.
Just don't do it.
