This is pretty shitty advice imo
OP has really wide hips. The last thing you want to do is obscure the shape of the waist.
Playing with ambiguous torso proportions is going to look really strange when the hips are so overtly defined already.

What you're wearing already doesn't look bad. Stick with the form fitting tops but consider some more interesting pants. This Austrian lab tech at my old work place had really wide hips too despite being really tiny otherwise and I thought she worked with it well. She often wore harem pants in really pretty colors. She had a good eye for coordination and even though she wasn't remotely fashionable she was stylish as fuck.

The clothes she wore would make anyone else look like music festival camper scum, but she was so gorgeous they always looked elegant.

black nails look kinda creepy to me, then again I don't pay attention to nails normally

personally I like monochrome because it feels bold without being too try-hard (of course there are countless exceptions), and the fact that color is muted draws more attention to other details of an outfit like silhouette (general shape). a lot of people who dress colorfully say all black is boring but there's merit and inspiration to be drawn from either point of view
