i don't know about zespy's fabric selection, but i machine wash and dry my gimp because it's so absorbent that when totally soaked it will literally take one full day to air dry.

the only thing that's happened to it so far is that the holes that o+m put there have gotten slightly bigger and the zipper has tarnished, which looks cool af anyway

most hoodies are constructed to maximize range of motion with simple patterns that can be quickly cut and sewn with a minimum number of steps. emphasizing fit isn't as simple as just shrinking some measurements down, they actually have to be patterned, cut, and sewn differently, and the method requires extra steps and time.

rick's hoodies have a really sharp cut through the armscye, it's a lot more tailored than what you usually get from a fleece sweatshirt and the result is a pretty sharp look in spite of the otherwise relaxed fit.

also, plain fullzips slay me every time. not just rick's. bape's go overboard and lampshade it too much for my tastes, with the mouths and eyes, but the regular fullzip is so clearly referential to a (and appropriately named as) gimp that it just cuts right through me :')

pugh has the vision, but he's lacking in basics that reflect the neoprene silliness while crossing over to and appealing to the, say, balenciaga or dior customer. thamanyah isn't even on that radar.

all shoes are actually constructed with glue, including traditional welted shoes. glued soles can still be repaired, very easily in fact, simply by regluing the sole to the upper or gluing a new sole to the upper. the only way a glued shoe would be unrepairable would be if the upper sheered, which would nuke a stitched shoe as well. stitching around the toe and the front of the sole does serve a purpose, because it's a common point of failure for glued soles and the stitching will help the sole stay functional and attractive for a longer period of time.
