its the level of comfort offered by the boot. as someone who stood on concrete for 8 hours a day, the cushiony synthetic materials like poron always failed without exception.

you upgrade a bit from mall trash into the babby tier and get red wings, which are more supportive and comfortable with its cork and leather, but still has long term problems (no arch support and cork)

then you move into the top tier ultimate offerings like the all leather White and you just experience levels of comfy that you've never experienced before. i personally wished i had known about White's earlier so i didn't waste so much time, money, and discomfort climbing the tiers
