It's for emergency responders and ambulance heli crews and such, I think they probably wear wristwatches, but other than that, your're right.
I mean, I really like Sinn, but I'd guess they're 99% LARP (as are all tool watches apart from G-shocks and the like).
Same with Mühle.
Doubt that anyone at the DGZRS is wearing pic related for work.

Thanks for the explantion.
Not thanks for the pic. But it does illustrate the point.
So I was kinda right with my dive bell and 0.001% of those few that take it diving assumptions. But I didn't know those details about the pressure chamber at surface level. But the whole thing totally makes sense. I'd assume those are "technical divers" or whatever you call them, working with oil rigs underwater and whatnot, but certainly not your average boomer diving around the Bahamas or something.

>but doesn't a field watch also conjure up images of jungle exploration, trekking, rock climbing or traversing through difficult terrain?
For Jungle and arctic, I used my G-shock (because I didn't have another watch; but anyways, it has many of the same qualities as a dive watch), but for everything else on your list, my diver just works.

some of the fields watches look kinda cute, but from a functionality standpoint I don't get their appeal. I would go for pic related. Some weird diver x fieldwatch x WTF combo.

>Any watch over 3.95$ is a luxury, so at that point what does it matter having a 200$ or a 20,000$ watch? If you can afford it without it impacting your life in a negative way, then why not?
I'd put the threshold at a bit higher, since 3.95 will only get you shit that you'd have to replace in short order, so it's probably $10 or whatever that iconic Casio shitter costs.
And yeah, if you're that rich that 200 or 20k is all peanuts to you, it probably won't matter, but dude, for most folks there's a middle ground! Like 200 will really only affect the poorest folks, whereas 20k, that's something even middle class should not just throw away.
Can I buy me a watch for 20k? Sure. Will it negatively affect my life right now? No. I'll just have 20k less on the bank that I don't really need. However, this 20k less now will also mean about 50k less in 20 years, assuming an average return of 5% and nothing happining where I might need that 20k RIGHT NOW, so, I'd rather not.
