will probably be buying a bottle of Eau Sauvage myself for the summer. or Eau de Guerlain, if I get the chance to test it somewhere and happen to like it more

had a weird perfume-related dream today
in this dream, I found a small local store with an interesting selection. I tested some stuff and left, but when I came home I realised I swiped a tester of Eau Sauvage EDC by mistake. the perfume salesman called me and was very mad, said I had to return it

next day I went to return the tester alongside a friend, but the salespeople insisted we had to follow them into a back room to do it. they locked the door behind us, pulled out guns and wanted to kill us for the crime of swiping a tester

somehow I managed to knock one of them out, take his revolver and shoot the others. in the end we walked out the store. while waiting for police to arrive, I realised that the real store was a bit further on and the place we had walked into was some drug den inside an abandoned children's playroom

blog over

typically I would think of something a bit old school, reserved, subtle, not screaming for attention
the lighter chypres like Eau Sauvage or Pour Monsieur fit well, as do the classed up barbershops like NYI or Lalique Pour Homme

does he wear any fragrances already?
my dad liked the bottle of Encre Noire Sport I gave him a lot. that's a nice non-sweet modern freshie, at a nice price
if he likes old school classics, something like Eau Sauvage or ADP Colonia could also work well. or even Grey Vetiver if he likes it green and earthy

it's a good one. nice subtle representation of the flame theme
Dior has some top tier bottles in general. Fahrenheit, Eau Sauvage, Homme... some of the best bottle designs out there

pretty sure they'll keep making Eau Sauvage forever at this point. hasn't gone anywhere in 60 years

9/10. minimal but great and feels quality in the hand. the offwhite lettering is a nice touch
>>17464130
6.5/10. not bad, but the shape is a little bland and the gradient thing was done way better with Fahrenheit
>>17464177
6/10. kind of bland and not memorable
>>17464249
7/10. I like how garish it is, looks like a prop from Scarface
>>17464620
8/10. I love the Encre Noire bottles, although the Extreme is my favorite. funny how a 20$ bottle can look so much more premium than something like Mancera or Montale that goes for 5x as much

not sure what my favorite bottle is at this point. I think it'd be between Eau Sauvage, Terre'd Hermes and Encre Noire a l'Extreme with Dior Homme Original and Parfum as honorable mentions

maybe good old Eau Sauvage (no relation to Sauvage)? very classy, premium smelling old school citrus, herbs and jasmine kind of scent. you can find testers for 50$ in Europe. only con is that it's weak - but that's perfect for your needs

it's kind of confusing, there is
>original Eau Sauvage EDT from the 1960s
a green citrus + floral fragrance. very classy and a little old school. weak performance, at least nowadays
>Eau Sauvage Parfum
same bottle design, but black instead of silver. also green citrus, but no florals, sweeter, adds vetiver and resins. not that similar IMO and much stronger performance
>Sauvage
completely different fragrance in a different bottle. soapy shower gell kind of scent, much less classy and more "sporty"
>Sauvage Elixir
also shower gell but with a lot of spices and anise. powerful performance.
