I frequent /cgl/ daily, but I've only browsed here out of curiosity a few times.
I wear Jfashion daily, depending on the day and what I'm up to my style changes. Daily wear would be like himekaji (princess casual), romagyaru (romantic girl), nanchatte (just kidding! uniform), and old school lolita. Easy to wear, easy to coordinate, and easy to wash after one wear. If I feel like getting more dressy I'll wear sweet lolita, mostly if I'm out and about instead of sitting at home or if I'm meeting with friends/boyfriend. OTT sweet is usually reserved for meetups, conventions, etc. where the point is to showcase creativity rather than functionality (think runway versus everyday clothes.) I run my own small indie brand so I can wear whatever I want, so I'm not too concerned about "negative social leverage." I get the odd rude comment or snide laugh here and there while I'm out, but I'm not insecure enough to let strangers dictate my life and forms of self-expression.
My boyfriend is from /v/ but we didn't meet on 'chan - we only discovered each other's boards after we met. He'd never seen the fashion before and thought it was cool, and thinks I look cute in it. He prefers classic, but doesn't mind sweet, and is always super protective of me when people try to be rude in public. In terms of getting him to match me... not happening. He's admittedly not very fashionable and prefers comfort over looking good. Not that I mind, the idea of dressing my SO up like some sort of accessory makes me a little uncomfortable, and all the matching styles are a little too feminine for me to find them attractive.
