I was thinking about this today actually and every once in a while too..

I'll sometimes think how fucking strange it is that a fucking sci-fi/space inspired fashion subculture was created in/and for a time flourished in a fucking fashion board on 4chan of all fucking places, and those images of our outfits we make (more specifically Poets and Knoches) have been seen by huge companies like HYPEBEAST and VICE and other major fashion and culture websites and companies and has slowly leaked out into other places like reddit and the hypebeasts that roam there have seen our stuff and have shown it to their friends and their friends, friends..

It's still fairly underground but it's weird things like this where it's on the cusp of being widely known is forever fucking weird/strange/surreal
Esp with the up and down waves of this board, I remember last summer there were no lunar threads and since I had so much time and was board I just started making lunar threads to see if I could get it to come back and from then I met Poet and Zndr and Outlander and SpaceCondom, I've went on SpaceJews Tumblr over the yrs and pestered him with questions about DiYing and inspiration and design and then we get burnt out and it dies for a few months then suddenly again out of no where another bored or lonely anon will make another thread after enough time and start it off again

I do however miss when it 1st took off as well as last summer which inspired other anons to make threads like CyberPunk and MarsCore even though I felt MarsCore couldve probably stayed in here since it's in the same general genre

I've had mine since Aug, and have lasted and held up pretty well, just some scuffs on the toe box and that's mostly it
They're also one of the more comfy shoes I've owned, the soles feel floaty/foamy and padded

Idk what OP's thoughts or intentions are, but for me there's 2 reasons why I get reps..

1) (the most usual one) is I like the design itself but don't give a shit about the brand or the ridiculous markup for the retail version, and yes I agree you should probably try to find decent quality reps not just so it looks better and not "weird" or "off" but also so they dont fall apart after 2 weeks of use

2) is sometimes for shoes that are RIDICULOUSLY popular or Hypebeast I obviously don't want to pay a 1000% resale for shoes I may or may not like, and if I see ultra cheap reps of them like 350s for example I'll get curious and want a cheap comfy shoe to wear at the gym or for running groceries or getting gas or walking around the neighborhood etc, I'll order them and try them out

and remember for a shoe like a 350 for example the silhouette is INCREDBLY simple compared to most tech runners and sneakers in general, they're essentially like a sock or moccasin or something, so finding a decent looking rep isn't usually too hard to find and considering that most ppl that wear them in public usually have the fakes, it's pointless to even bother getting real ones, because everyone will think they're fake regardless, so it's a lose/lose situation, least with reps you don't have to spend an arm an leg for "meh" quality shoes

I never understood the whole "what will they think" mentality anyway, I see a cool design and Intead of spending shitton of sheckles I just get a decent quality reps for 1/20th the price.

FFS I wear these $35 field boots like every day and no one has bitched at me or anything and they're sure as fuck cheaper and better looking than that hack Kanyes stoopid looking "field" boots

I love hopping on DH gate/Aliexpress apps and looking at the coolest cheapest stuff I can find and seeing if it'll actually be half decent, from what I've dealt with its not bad..
The worst that could happen is you wasted the equivalent of a value menu burger or chicken sangwich

I got pic related from aliexpress/DH gate app a couple months back for only $35 and when I got them I was honestly impressed they weren't shittier or flimsier

And like the other anon said it's just easier to use DH Gate or Aliexpress and just go off of reviews and customer pics and a bit of a leap of faith.
The only thing I don't like is how ALOT of the "high fashion" shoes are pretty much gone or hard to find on places like aliexpress, before you could find a SHIT-TON of Rick Owens/raf/SLP/FOG/Y-3/MMM all over aliexpress and with enough searching you could find a cheap and decent quality rep of them, now you REALLY gotta dig and the ones you find are overpriced compared to what they were 3-5yrs ago
It's almost impossible to find a good Rickdidas rep now, at least on Ali, which is why I just started using DH Gate which is a bit better, would probably have better lick on Taobao but it's WAY too much of a pain in the ass to use and find an agent etc,
Idk why Taobao doesn't have an English version of the site or app, especially when LOTS of ppl request it
