Because westerners think the Asian girls that Asians find ugly are attractive. All has to do with the "primitive woman" and "the other". I'm starting to slowly get attracted to the ugly ones but more because their ugliness is kind of edgy looking, the odd trip back to China fixes my standards though.

Nope. Numbers don't matter at all. China as a society is very against fashion and vanity. Many families try to discourage their children from going into modelling, Jerry Fu for example.

Another factor is that most of the people in China don't have interest or the resources to go to foreign countries and work there and neither do they have contact with foreign countries. It just has a better looking population on average.

No, those Cantonese and Malaysian Chinese don't count or sum up what all Chinese look like, they make up a small percentage of Chinese people.
