I had always liked the look. Especially the printed shirts with big collars (pic related.) I started buying them several years ago, and then started buying pants and jackets to match the style, and now it's just my preferred style.

I never had any sense of personal style before that, and I guess I take comfort in maintaining an outdated style that I personally like, rather than trying to keep up with current trends. Also, I can find really quality deadstock vintage for dirt cheap because no one else wants to wear it.
