Which black high top?

The Tobias and Alfie are pretty much exactly the same except for the material, one being canvas and the other leather. Has anyone had any experience with the leather version?

Which one? Just need an all black or at least mostly black shoe.

I'm leaning towards all black converse, can't decide on leather or canvas, but I've recently been looking at the Doc Marten Alfie and Tobias. They're effectively the same shoes, but one is canvas is one is leather/suede.

Anyone have experience with these Docs or maybe has some advice one leather/canvas converse? I've heard the quality on the leather of the Tobias is pretty suspect but I don't know if springing for leather (be it Docs or Converse) on this low of a budget is a good idea or not.
