is there any cheaper alternative to MMM Gats outside of OG Gats/Adidas GATS? I want some that look similar to MMM Gats but not sure where to start. I cant really afford to spend 400 dollars on shoes at the moment

I have a question for the more educated browsers here about differentiating authentic and fake Margiela GAT replicas, as fakes seem to be extremely prevalent when buying second hand.

I've never handled real Margiela GATS, so I can't compare with them, but I have handled fakes.

The upper on the fakes was thin (faux?) leather and the back of the material on the inside of the shoe was a sort of canvas-like fabric. The tongue made a loud squeaking noise when rubbing against the upper as well.

I've heard that MMM uses high quality materials, I find it hard to believe that authentic MMM GATs use such thin materials.

What are the most distinguishing factors of real Margiela GATs? How can you tell them apart from fakes?
