It opens with a dated soapy violet. Don't be discouraged though because couple minutes later a bit bitter herbal greenness comes out and balances the florals and dated vibe out. To be completely fair with you guys it's not my cup of tea but everyone who likes soapy/iris fragrances like Dior Home or Valentino Uomo Intense should try it as this might be just down your alley. It also has this fougery twist to it that reminds me of Silver Mountain Water (minus fruits). Years ago I was mass buying cheap fragrances like Rasasi etc. It beats all of them despite costing like $10 per what 10 liters? You can literally wash yourself in it for this price. I'm also not able put my finger or anything here that would smell obviously synthetic or screeching. That's really a very smooth blend but you should definitely test it first.

>Penhaligon's Sartorial
It's the most popular men Penhaligon's in their line up, so a good place to start with the house. The opening screams class. Definitely a fragrance for someone who knows what he wants. It's built around a barbershop structure with prominent lavender on a sweet-floral-spicy background. The sweetness here is definitely not anything juvenile like in other popular modern barbershop fragrances like Dylan Blue. I have yet to find a Duchaufour's fragrance that would be a dud. This man is a genius. Survives 6-8h on my skin drying down to a bit musky lavender metallic vibe (which is not unconventional or challenging at all - it's hard to describe it).

>Ormonde Jayne Ormonde Man
This is what I wanted Creed Viking to smell like. It smells expensive from the first sniff. It's woodsy, spicy and refreshing. Very, very well balanced summer fragrance. It's really safe on one hand and very sophisticated and unique on the other. I totally understand why LT gave it 5/5 stars. If you want just one power fragrance and don't bother with anything else this might be it.
