Harm reduction really is the best solution to this health crisis. You can go on about how weak people are, how they just need to man up and face it, courage wolf, etc.
And you'd be right. People DO need to face up to things like this. But being right doesn't do anything about what truly is a global drug problem. People are drowning in the own fluids over the course of years - the strain on the healthcare system unimaginable.
Being right and telling people to man up isn't an answer for a LOT of people. Maybe that makes them weak, or less than you in some department. Maybe that drug is an anchor for some people, their last refuge in a life they don't want. Who knows?
You know what IS an answer? Giving people their drug safely and at low cost. That's E-cigs. They're a glorious tiny step towards a future where where cancer rates are finally bottoming. It's all very humanist and a solution that really could work.
