CPCP is based, and the fact that it isn't talked about much speaks volumes about the kinds of people who are into high-end watches. Patek, AP, Lange, et al. are the purview of individuals like in OP's pic. They are late-career dentists and actuaries (or rappers, god forbid), with a lot of money but little in the way of taste. Beauty is invisible to them and of course it would be, what with a lifetime spent looking at numbers. Big number good, little number bad. Expensive watch good. Unlike them, however, the Cartier Privé owner is a man of taste and refinement. He's not a watch collector, who trawls the forums and rehashes tired debates on finishes or complications. His social life is far to busy for that, and it certainly wouldn't make for interesting conversation with the innumerably many beautiful women who are always seen in his company.
