Probably because the moc toe stitching on the plain Indy is done on newer machines. On the older pairs (at least the ones I’ve seen circa ~1970s) the stitching was more pronounced. You can still get the more pronounced stitching in handstitched make ups and all the NSTs. It’s not going to be like the workboot moc toe aesthetic if that’s what you’re used to.
