Captcha always consists of two words, one of which is known to the captcha server and one of which is unknown. The unknown one is either a number from Google Street View or a word from a library of public books that Google is displaying in an effort to crowdsource the digitization of words that don't read easily via OCR software.

If you solve a few captchas it's quite easy to tell which is the computer-generated word and which is the text you're meant to help Google read.

You have to solve the text that Google knows but you are free to write whatever the fuck you want for the one they want you to read. Pic related it's what I'm solving right now.
