yes, ofc. im not very interested in high fashion scenes, everything I wear is casual and quiet because I try to avoid attention, but I'll usually sill be exploring ideas and concepts, just subtly, and I've known people who do too. There are also many people who follow the scenes closely, they tend to have the most tasteless, conventional approaches. Fashion photographers are the worst. Personally, i think it's a matter of interdisciplinary exposure, fashion scenes tend to be very insular, only a basic interest in other artforms that is usually at best banal appropiation. Tokyo is the worst offender.

Anyway, you were thinking about astronauts, but I'm very excited by nike split soles, I want them to really blow up, I think they're very fleshy and futuristic in a Cronenberg way, but being on casual sneakers, they've the potential to become ubiquitous across cities, on kids and grandpas too, rather than just in fashion districts or on runways. I think they very much reflect the aesthetics of these past few years in terms of underground club music and NYC/Berlin's art world, I'd love to see them become iconic like the sneaker styles of the 90s.
