I get that, but big difference between constructive criticism and just being a useless asshole for the sake of it (unless they deserve it). Infinitely better than a hugbox though, which is why a place like mfa makes me feel so nauseous. It's my understanding that over there you just get downboated into oblivion if you critique a fit harshly without using smiley faces or an optimistic tone. That's why most people over there dont improve much.

I do think that posting things in an anonymous forum is the best way to get a sample impression of what people irl are honestly thinking, though.

ahh, good point. Using suits as a point of comparison doesn't really work, since suits are usually one colour, while dresses are usually a palette.

I don't feel like this is always the case, although it might be in this one. Something like pic related could easily be worn if ur going grungeweeb tho.

Basic slim jeans/wool trousers with derbies would be the easiest way to go for sure. I'd like to see it work with wide trousers but think it'd be a bit much
