Is there any actual benefit to these being made to order and mixed by hand in store, or is it just a gimmick? Wouldn’t the chances of getting a bad batch be increased dramatically by leaving the actual blending of the thing in the hands of just whatever asshole happens to be working that day? I used to work in food service, and I know for a fact that the quality of the dishes I sent out suffered somewhat if I was feeling shitty, even if it was inadvertent. I can’t imagine this would be all that different, and if you’re paying niche prices, you should expect the highest quality every time. I just don’t see how le labo could guarantee something like that given their service model.
