If you're a twink it's never going to work. If you're at least slightly masculine with some chest hair and muscle it'll work 100% of the time, all the time. The bad thing is that it's either incel losers wearing them trying to appropriate sleaze or some fat boomer.

I typically prescribe it combined with benzoyl peroxide. Tretinoin is beneficial for skin turnover but has no bactericidal benefit like BP or clindamycin gels. If you can get away with the vitamin A derivatives that's great but often I find that patients need some sort of combination therapy at least initially.

If one cannot tolerate benzoyl peroxide (sun sensitivity, skin bleaching, irritation) I go for more of the topical antibiotics.

It can make your acne worse initially.
