I knit a lot, wrote some stuff about it above (and the guide to extra resources in the archived link)

Knit a quick basic grey jumper last week without a pattern to test it out, and it worked fairly well (but it was only a rough practice on huge needles so I can't feasibly wear it until like October now unless I want to boil.)
So now I'm knitting up that same style in a wearable weight.

Spent about half an hour on it yesterday so I've only got the bottom ribbing for the front panel done, but it looks alright so far.
