Socialism is things like free healthcare, free food, free housing. So our limitless potential can be put to real progress. Instead of slavery for funding some monopoly owners military pawns and suppression of you.

A post-scarcity society implies socialism.
Populism is what makes socialism good.

Communism without populism is just classism of social connections and tribal dictatorship of a society not off from some feudal monarchy.
Capitalism and communism become the same thing when any one force gains too much of a monopoly of power.

If someone is against the populism of your country, they are your enemy and they want to support exploitation.

If someone is against socialism that empowers your people, they are likewise an enemy of your people.
Sure, some fear dictatorship when governments have too much power, but supporting the poor defending themselves from monopolies, isn’t apart of that.
There’s good socialism and bad socialism. A populist socialism is the direct cure to someone using socialism to merely gain power.

I love my people. The homeless of the streets are MY PEOPLE as much as any other.
My country doesn’t belong to some rich people or Israel or a government subverted by monopolies. It belongs to the PEOPLE. It belongs to the people who love the country. Those who have a good dream for the fate of everyone in it.

I love lazy people too. I’m most satisfied by a society where everyone is happy. 95% of jobs as is are useless. The heart of the economy is the soul/consciousness of its people. Good thoughts make a good society.
