Techwear is exclusively an online phenomenon, walk into a northface or arc, teryx
store and ask them about Techwear. I guarantee you will get some very confused sales associates who doesn't know what you're talking about. Additionally Techwear doesn't actually care for utilitarianism the way some users in this thread thinks it does, it instead upholds an illusion of functionality. the overwhelming majority of people who are drawn to this style buy clothes that are complete overkill for their environment and look terrible in the context in which they wear them. The realization that 99.99% of people who wear Techwear would be more than adequately dressed for any urban environment they will ever encounter in a Uniqlo Blocktech parka is especially sobering. Hilariously they would also probably look better in a Uniqlo parka than the larp gear they end up buying

The brands whose clothes make up this style have also abandoned functionality and actual design in favour of name brand fabrics, proprietary hardware ,and the same tired design language and military references. stone island is a shell(heh) of it's former self getting by on celebrity endorsements and it's former pedigree ,

Acronym is purely a cult of personality brand that has no redeeming design qualities, continually raises prices while lowering production quality and openly and routinely mocks it's own customers.

Arc,Teryx while the darling of the northeastern urbanites still hasn't managed to figure out quality control on Veilance even though it's been a constant complaint for going on a decade now, and what little design value it does offer is totally mismatched with it's pricing structure. a classic case of dematerialization or Logomania

this is what all fans of techwear would look like if they could
